Monday, June 7, 2021Friday, July 16, 2021

Our summer reading program will be virtual again this year. The program runs from June 7th-July 16th. You can register beginning June 2nd on line with or pick up a packet at the library.

Children ages 0-12 are required to read 10 books and teens ages 13-17 are required to 5 books in their appropriate reading level. Once they have completed the requirement, the children can redeem prizes at Barton Library. This process will continue throughout the length of the program. Also, adults 18+ can register on line as well. Prizes will be awarded for 1st ,2nd, & 3rd place winners in all divisions.

Every Wednesday, we will have virtual story time for ages 0-8 posted on Barton's Facebook page. There will be an art and craft activity that goes along with the story. The children can stop by the library and pick up a craft bag.

Local business usually provide food coupons as rewards to give to the children for maintaining and improving their literacy skills. Some of the sponsors include: Project South, McDonalds, South Arkansas Historical Preservation Society, Union County Genealogical Society and Home Depot.
